Mastering the Use of Dual-component adhesive packaging for Epoxy Adhesive

2025-01-20

At JAPI, we're committed to providing you with high - quality adhesive packaging solutions, and epoxy adhesive is no exception. Packaged in a practical dual-component adhesive cartridge , this product comes with two components housed separately in individual tubes, which is what we refer to as a dual - component adhesive cartridge or 2K cartridge. This design ensures thorough mixing of the two adhesive components when they are dispensed.

Preparation for Use

Before starting, several crucial steps need to be taken. First, remove the cap from the 2K cartridge. This is the initial step to get the adhesive ready for use.

Next, attach a static mixer to the tip of the dual cartridge. The static mixer is essential for ensuring the proper and thorough mixing of the two components within the dual - component adhesive cartridge.

After attaching the static mixer, hold the epoxy adhesive cartridge downward. Gently push the contents downwards. This action is vital as it helps any trapped air bubbles to escape. Air bubbles can negatively impact the adhesive's performance, making it crucial to eliminate them at this stage.

Application and Mixing

Once the bubbles are out, you can begin applying the adhesive. By pushing the piston, you can slowly extrude the materials – the resin and the hardener – onto the two surfaces you intend to bond. Here, we highly recommend using a matched mixing nozzle. A mixing nozzle, when attached to the adhesive cartridge, enables the resin and hardener to blend as they are dispensed, ensuring a more consistent and effective bond. However, if a mixing nozzle is not available, you should manually mix the resin and hardener on the surfaces. In such cases, there's no guarantee of achieving the same consistent and thorough mixing effect as with a proper mixing nozzle.

After applying the adhesive and ensuring proper mixing, firmly press the two surfaces together. This creates a strong bond that will hold up over time.

Additional Tools for Enhanced Performance

For larger projects or when a more precise and efficient mixing is required, we also offer an adhesive cartridge in combination with a static mixer. The static mixer is a remarkable tool that ensures thorough and consistent mixing of the two components from the 2K cartridge. This combination is especially useful when dealing with larger volumes of the dual - component adhesive, guaranteeing a high - quality bond every time.

By following these steps, you can make the most usage of epoxy adhesive and the dual adhesive packaging system. If you have any questions or need further assistance, don't hesitate to reach out to our dedicated customer support team. Do you have any specific projects in mind where you'll be using our adhesive packing?
