Introduction to Polyurethane

2024-11-15

Polyurethane (IUPAC abbreviation PUR, general abbreviation PU), also known as polyurethane, refers to a class of polymers containing polyurethane characteristic units in the main chain. This polymer material not only has the elasticity of rubber, but also has the strength of plastic and excellent processing properties, and has great application value in seven fields of plastics, rubber, foam, fiber, coatings, adhesives and functional polymers. We have one component and two component polyurethane adhesive cartridges.

Advantages:

1.Wide hardness range: suitable for a variety of applications,

2.High strength: Excellent performance in bonding and structural support.

3.Good wear resistance: comparable to wear-resistant rubber.

4.Strong oil resistance: not lower than nitrile rubber, close to the performance of polysulfide rubber.

5.Ozone resistance: Excellent weather resistance.

6.Shock absorption and radiation resistance: excellent stability in high vibration and radiation environments

Disadvantages:

1.High temperature resistance is general: the normal use temperature range is -40℃ to 120℃, and the humidity and heat resistance is poor.

2.Resistance to strong solvents and strong acids and bases: at a certain temperature, alcohols, acids and ketones will degrade polyurethane adhesives

3.Easy moisture absorption: polyurethane curing agent is easy to absorb moisture in the air, resulting in solidified colloidal foam.

Application:

1.Automotive industry: Used for car body structure bonding, sealing, etc.

2.Construction industry: suitable for bonding and sealing of building materials,

3.Electronic and electrical fields: used for bonding and potting of precision electronic components to ensure the stability and protection of the devices.

Polyurethane main chain flexibility is very good, its biggest feature is the resistance to shock shock and bending fatigue, peel strength is very high, especially the low temperature resistance is extremely excellent, in the existing glue champion. If you need adhesive cartridges to fill with polyurethane or static mixers, please contact me.
